DAY 1: ARRIVAL – TARANGIRE

This is where all of your planning becomes a reality; your safari starts now. Many travellers rate Tarangire among their favorite national parks anywhere in Tanzania. Here in Tarangire, you can look for lions, leopards, and cheetahs. But you won’t have to look hard to see baboons, vervet monkeys, wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes and zebras. And you’ll come across elephants and baobabs everywhere, two giants of the African bush. Also, an enjoyable part of your Tarangire experience will be the rolling savannah scenery, which includes rivers and low hills. And while it can get busy, crowds of cars will not be a problem here.

DAY 2: CENTRAL SERENGETI

Welcome to the Serengeti’s most popular wildlife area. It’s here in the heart of the park, in the Central Serengeti, that you find the densest concentrations of wildlife. Big cats and elephants are frequently seen in this area, and this section of the park is rich in acacia trees and big Serengeti horizons.

DAY 3: CENTRAL SERENGETI – NGORONGORO HIGHLANDS

There’s nowhere in Tanzania where you have a better chance of seeing big cats than in the Central Serengeti. You’ll also see lots of other animals as you explore the savannah grasslands and silhouetted acacia trees with us. This is the Serengeti’s heartland and it is the most popular area of the park, but with very good reason.

Ngorongoro Highlands

Temperatures are lovely and cool in Ngorongoro Highlands, which is perfect for exploring the forests, and seeing the wildlife (elephant, buffalo and maybe even leopard) and views.

DAY 4: CRATER – ARUSHA

Your final day in and around Ngorongoro Crater could just be one of the most memorable of your whole safari. You’ll explore the crater rim and then drive down onto the crater floor, where the critically endangered black rhinos are the stars of an astonishing wildlife show. You’ll almost certainly see large-tusked elephants, at least one of the Ngorongoro’s four lion prides, and wandering clans of spotted hyenas. It also just happens to be one of Africa’s most beautiful corners, a hidden world where you’ll be surrounded by steep, deep green crater walls, a Salt Lake, forests and hippo-filled waterways.
